That's my social media checked. But just why am I doing it on my iPhone when I have a perfectly good computer next to me?! I check on both because my Facebook news feed is often different on my mobile verses my laptop. It has to do with the targeted advertising and personalisation. Also, as I understand it, a mobile feed focuses more on recency which is important on a mobile device. Annoyingly this can mean that I sometimes miss an informative update. As a page admin this can be frustrating too. We want our audience to see what we post. For a while I have been putting out updates saying the following...
"Facebook doesn't always show our posts even though you have liked our page. So, If you don't want to miss our updates then please ensure that you go to our page, hover over LIKE/LIKED, and click on NOTIFICATIONS. Then you will be notified when you log into Facebook when we've updated our page ~ Thank you! "
I have been putting out this post because despite my page being liked, the posts are typically reaching a small percentage of my audience who liked it. Other pages have found the same. I bet you are one of them? This is due to the EdgeRank algorithm. Facebook uses this to decide what to show in the feeds of Facebook users. Liking a post, commenting on it and sharing it with friends gives a post a higher ranking which gives it a higher chance of being seen. Which is why us page admins love it when engagement is high! Otherwise we have to pay, by using things like 'boost a post' to get our posts seen. Even by those who HAVE liked our page!
You can do what I suggest above and let your audience know they can use the option to become notified when you update your Facebook page. When they open Facebook they will see a little notification that your page has added an update, and they can come and take a look,...and hopefully engage.
Or you can suggest they add your page to an Interest List, which is another great way for organising Facebook content. If you haven't tried using them yourself, give them a try.
Let's say you would like to add my page to your interest list, here are the steps to do that if you are using a PC From your profile (not your page)
Now when you go to your profile you will have another link on the left of your screen. And you can refer to it whenever you like, add other relevant pages to the list when you want.
