Sarah Hall

This is Sarah Hall. Aged 40. Married with 3 boys. She is a Freelance CSS Designer and self confessed Twitterholic. Tell us more about yourself Sarah...

Who is your target audience?

Often when people have an idea, they know where to go for business startup advice however, currently there are no providers of startup web advice, this is the advice that I provide. I spend a lot of time helping these types of businesses to understand each element that is required to “get online” and help them to make the informed decisions that they need to. Whether that be full scale optimisation, full on graphic designs or simple business card sites.

What area do you cover?

The internet has no limits and with mobile media, neither does my work, but it’s always lovely to meet up.

What are your passions?

I am recovering from an incorrect work/life balance, it’s almost there! For a while there I lost my way, lost the colour and the vibrancy to life; the space to breath and recently I found it all again, beauty, simplicity and truth – I now have many passions to chose one alone would be hard.

What are your goals?

Oh I still have a list as long as … I have never stopped dreaming, there are places to go and things to see – as I grow older, my tastes change and there are still things I have yet to do. 40 took me mud buggying - who knows what 41 will bring!

Tell us something interesting about you that we may not know?

I used to keep and breed snakes and lizards, at the high point I had a collection of 13 snakes and 5 lizards. I found them new homes when I became pregnant with my first child.

Has business helpers helped you? If so, how?

Oh yes! I got myself a little flustered around the time of my last Twitter workshop and engaged the assistance of Business Helpers to coordinate Facebook for me. With little or no input from me Tracey took a lead and to be honest showed me how it should be done! The results were superb, chaos was put to order and remained there until after the workshop. Couldn’t have been more impressed.

Name one person you would recommend people link to on FB/Twitter (not yourself or Business Helpers)

I would have to recommend Dave Roderick at Millbrook Design & Print ( millbrookdesign.net / @millbrookdp ). I have known Dave now for approx 2 years and in that time he has never let me down. I have been able to refer customers to him total confidence. Good Value for money, innovative, fantastic customer service and an evolving company. I have always been secure in the knowledge that he will look after both myself and my clients.

Share a business tip for others

My biggest tip has to be if in doubt leave it out! If you are in anyway unsure of anything you are going to do in the world of web or social media, heed your instincts – don’t do it! Wait, research, go back and revisit whatever it is you need to do, but I can guarantee if you do this you will never go far wrong.

Do you have a query/ problem that maybe someone could help with?

No, I think actually for the first time, there is nothing, other than time, that I need help with and there is no single person that can cure that one than me and I am succeeding in that battle!
